AWAY means Always Welcome At YMCA's.
Your YMCA-A home AWAY from home.
A benefit of being a member of a YMCA is the AWAY program. This program is designed to accomodate out of town YMCA members who
want to continue their routine while they are away from home.
The AWAY program is based on the philopsophy that when a person enrolls in a YMCA, he
or she becomes a member of a nationwide association of people that helps build
strong kids, strong families, and strong communities, and, therefore, when away
from home, on businees or vacation, will be warmly welcomed by participating YMCA's.
Participation in the AWAY program is voluntary for YMCA's across the country and there are some restrictions
that apply.
The Pickens County YMCA's policy requires that your home YMCA be more than 50
miles away from our facilities. We also require proof of membership from your
local Y at the time of your visit.
