Group Wellness Class Description

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
 
BOOT CAMP/CARDIO BLAST/CARDIO BLAST
A cardio-intense class that may include but is not limited to: Step, High/Low, Kickboxing, Sprints, Drills and Weights. These classes use a wide variety of activities to boost your heart rate & burn calories!

MOVIN’ & GROOVIN’
Beginning line dance. A fun & exciting work-out. Uses varied music & many different dance moves. Perfect for all ages & fitness levels
 
CHROGA 
 A class which approaches yoga from a Christian perspective…includes balance, stretching,  strengthening, flexibility, relaxation, etc.

YOGA 
Yoga approached from a Chris tian perspective.  Includes poses & stretches that require flexibility, strength, balance, & concentration.

MIXED LEVEL YOGA (Beginner/Intermediate)
Yoga approached from a Chris tian perspective.  Includes poses & stretches that require flexibility, strength, balance, & concentration.

YOGALATES
A class that combines Yoga & Pilates.

PILATES
A class which focuses on “core training”, ie- using your abdominal & other trunk muscles to tone the whole body.  Movements are slow & controlled & help develop strength, flexibility, & balance.  For all ages & fitness levels.

SPORTS CONDITIONING STEP
An athletic type class which utilizes calisthenics, sports simulations, STEP, & muscle conditioning.  Suitable for all fitness levels.
 
STEP
Aerobic exercise that consists of stepping up & down on a 4" to 10" adjustable step.  Movements are coordinated to music &  choreographed.  Intensity may be low, medium, or high depending on student ability & effort.  Class includes:  1) warm-up & aerobic stepping (30 - 40 minutes)   2) muscle conditioning of upper and/or lower body & abdominal work (15 – 20 minutes),   3) cool-down & stretching (5 – 10 minutes).
 
CLASSIC STEP/INTERMEDIATE STEP
Aerobic exercise that consists of stepping up and down on a 4" to 10" (adjustable) step.  Movements are coordinated & choreographed to music.  Class includes: 1) warm-up & aerobic stepping (40 - 45 minutes) and 2) muscle conditioning of upper and/or lower body, abdominal work, and cool-down (15 - 20 minutes).  Modifications are offered to accommodate variable fitness levels. Intermediate offers more advanced choreography. Basic Step offers simpler choreography.

BEGINNER STEP
A class designed to teach the basic of STEP aerobics to the student who has no or very little experience w/STEP. Includes muscle conditioning and stretching.

STEP SPRINT
A Classic Step Class interspersed with higher intensity moves such as jumping jacks, lunges, squats, sprints, etc.

MULTI-STEP
A classic step class that uses more than one step per person.

BASIC SCULPT
30 minutes of muscle conditioning and strengthening offered at a basic level.

BASIC or SUPER SCULPT
An interval class with Cardio stations that members rotate through every 2-3 minutes (ie. jump rope, step, agility ladder, hula hoop, lunges, etc.) for 30 minutes of sculpting.

CORE CONCENTRATION
A class that focuses on strengthening the abdominals and back while including the quads, hams, and other supporting muscles. 

ZUMBA/CARDIO-SALSA
An aerobic exercise class based on Latin-inspired dance moves anD/OR "Salsa." Easy to learn & fun to do!

LINE DANCING & LIGHT WEIGHTS
Line dancing followed by easy to do muscle conditioning... uses light weights for a well-rounded cardio & sculpt workout!

GROUP CYCLING
A class on a stationary bike set to music. Bikes are adjustable to various levels of difficulty. Beginners to advanced are welcome. 
 
"DOUBLE TRACK" GROUP CYCLING 
A Group Cycling class as above that caters to Beginners and Intermediate. The instructor offers two different intensity options throughout class to personalize the work-out for individual participants.
 
SilverSneakers ® I – Muscular Strength & Range of Movement
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

SilverSneakers ® II – Cardio Circuit
Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises.    
 
SilverSneakers ® YogaStretch
A beginning level class that offers stretching, balance, concentration, and relaxation.  A chair is used for seated and/or standing support as needed. 
 
BODY RECALL
A cardio intense class that borrows from martial arts with aerobic kicking, punching , etc.

(Children ages 8 and up who are members may attend classes if they are accompanied by a parent. Certain rules apply for children to participate in the classes. Please check with the instructor for further information.)
