    Water Fitness Classes

Water Fitness is a multi-faceted form of exercise, geared toward all ages and all fitness levels. People who can swim and non-swimmers alike can take advantage of the multiple health benefits water aerobics provides.

Water Fitness is a very safe and beneficial form of exercise. Water protects the joints while providing a natural resistance for muscle toning. Other benefits include: improved strength and balance, as well as providing a greater range of motion to enhance the quality of life for those participants who routinely exercise.

Overall health can be improved by elevating cardiovascular function. High blood pressure and bad cholesterol may also be lowered while raising good cholesterol.Participants are encouraged in fitness and fellowship, while raising their health and fitness levels.

The Pickens County YMCA Water Fitness Class participants are a very special group of individuals from various backgrounds. These individuals also have different fitness levels and span different age groups. This band of very unique individuals has blended through fitness to become a very close knit, caring class.
