Water Fitness is a multi-faceted form of exercise, geared toward
all ages and all fitness levels. People who can swim and non-swimmers
alike can take advantage of the multiple health benefits water aerobics
provides.
Class DescriptionsSHALLOW WATER FITNESS CLASS Provides a high-intensity workout using water resistance without the impact of traditional land classes. Exercises are performed with foam noodles and dumbbells in shallow water. Non-swimmers welcome. DEEP WATER FITNESS CLASS Designed for individuals seeking a non-impact, deep water exercise program. It emphasizes joint flexibility, range of motion and muscle toning through specific exercises. Participants must be comfortable in deep water. ARTHRITIS CLASS A low impact class for those who have arthritis or any other joint disorders. The focus is on range of motion, stretching, and strengthening. There is a core muscle strengthening and development element just by being in the water and moving. There is also an emphasis on improving balance for carried over safety on land. This is a time to gather together, support one another, and have fun, while gently getting into shape. Non-swimmers welcome. WATER WALKING CLASS Combination of deep and shallow exercise to maximize your water workout. Exercises are performed with foam noodles and dumbbells in both the deep and shallow water for a fun and exciting total body workout. Non-swimmers welcome.
