Water Safety Tips

 

- Make sure your pool has four-sided fencing and a self-closing, 
  self-latching  gate.
- Actively supervise your children around water
- Never swim alone: swim with a buddy.
- Have a phone nearby to call for help in an emergency (9-1-1).
- Do not leave furniture near a fence so that a child can climb 
  over into the pool.
- Set water safety rules for the whole family.
- Know how to prevent, recognize and respond to emergencies.
- Learn how to tread water, float and get out of the pool
  (adults & children).
- Learn CPR (infant, child & adult).
- Always keep basic lifesaving equipment by the pool
  (rope, reaching pole, life jacket).
- Do not rely on water wings or other inflatable toys.
- Reach or throw, don’t go.
- Water is clear, drained or covered.
