INFORMATION FOR JOINING THE Y ONLINE
What membership types can join online?
The following membership types are available online: Individual, Single-Parent Family, Family and 3-Adult Household.
The following membership types are not available online: Youth, College, Senior and 4-Adult Household. These membership types require additional verification, so please see the Member Services staff at the branch for more information and to join.
Can I apply a discount during the online joining process?
Discounts cannot be applied during the online joining process. If you feel you qualify for a discount (Senior, Income-Based, Corporate, etc.), you must join with a Member Services representative so they can verify your eligibility.
I joined online and then learned I qualify for a discount. Can I receive a partial refund?
Discounts cannot be applied retroactively.
What do I do if I can't log in to my online account?
If you have an on-line account with the YMCA but cannot remember your password, please select the "Forgot your password" link on the online login screen HERE.
If you believe your email address associated with your account is incorrect or inaccessible, please contact member services at the branch for assistance.
Can I change my draft information, draft dates, or cancel through the online portal?
Not at this time. Please contact member services in order to make any changes to your existing account. Members and program participants may only join or register for select programs through the online system.

Pickens County YMCA Membership Code of Conduct
The YMCA expects you to observe basic rules of conduct. In the YMCA, as in any group, rules are necessary. These rules apply to all. They list certain practices, which cannot be tolerated; however they are not all inclusive. Common sense, what is reasonable under the circumstances, will be used as the guideline in all cases. The protection of our members and guests participating in our programs and/or using our facilities is a paramount interest of the Pickens County YMCA. The Pickens County YMCA reserves the right to deny access or membership to any person who has been convicted of any crime involving sexual misconduct; is a registered sex offender; habitually or excessively uses narcotics or dangerous drugs; has ever been convicted of any offense relating to the use, sale, possession, or transportation of narcotics or habit forming and/or dangerous drugs; or continuously or excessively use intoxicating beverages.
One of the main goals of the Pickens County YMCA is to encourage exercise and good health among children and adults. To achieve this goal, each child and adult must feel comfortable at the YMCA. These policies are subject to change. The CEO determines interpretation and enforcement of these policies. Appeals of the CEOs decision can be made to the Membership Committee in writing. (Refer to Membership Grievance Policy)
CHECK IN SYSTEM
All members are required to bring their membership cards when using the facilities.
Each member is expected to dress in a manner deemed appropriate for the YMCA, for being in a co-ed environment and among children. Shirt and shoes are to be worn at all times throughout the building. Shirts and shoes are not required in areas where bathing suits are permitted.
ALCOHOL, DRUG & TOBACCO USE
Alcohol, drug and tobacco possession or use is not permitted on YMCA grounds or during YMCA programs as we promote healthy lifestyles. Persons suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave the YMCA property.
Members must be 12 & older to use the locker rooms unsupervised. Children 6 or older cannot enter into the opposite sex locker room. Locks will not be provided. You may use your own lock. Locks which are left on overnight are subject to removal. Please lock up your belongings while visiting the Y. The YMCA is not responsible for items in lockers.
Children ages 14 and under may not be left unsupervised in the facility or in the pool areas. A supervised child is defined by active supervision by a parent/guardian age 18 & up. Children ages 15 and up must have their membership card with them in order to access the facilities. Wellness & Strength Centers: Children ages 11-14 are allowed in the Wellness & Strength Center but must be actively supervised by a parent or guardian. Children ages 7-14 are allowed in the Interactive Zone but must be actively supervised by a parent or guardian. Children 10 and under are prohibited from entering the Wellness & Strength Centers.
FIREARMS, WEAPONS & CRIMINAL ACTIVITY
Firearms and weapons of any kind, including concealable weapons, are not permitted on YMCA property or during YMCA programs at any time. Crimes committed on YMCA property, misdemeanor or felony, may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law if deemed necessary by the CEO and Membership Committee.
Some recreation equipment is available at the Member Services desk. A drivers license should be presented to check out equipment and will be retained until return of equipment.
FACILITY USAGE POLICY
Members are expected to follow posted facility rules and notices while at the YMCA. i.e.: Treadmill time limits, Gym closing for YMCA programming, Swimming Pool Scheduling, etc. Loitering is prohibited on all YMCA property.
Pets are not permitted on YMCA property.
All of the acts below are prohibited:
VERBAL ABUSE: Profane language, racial, ethnic or cultural slurs
PSYCHOLOGICAL ABUSE: Intimidation, attacking anothers self-esteem and/or threats to another person.
SEXUAL HARASSMENT: Verbal or physical
SEXUAL BEHAVIOR: Any forms of sexual behavior
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: All forms; including consented acts of perceived violence
Anyone containing ANY of the above referenced acts will be subject to sanctions including, but not limited to, the following:
1. Removal from the YMCA facility
2. Suspension of up to one year from the facility
3. Suspension of up to one year from participation or attendance in all YMCA sponsored programs and functions
4. Termination of membership privileges or employment with the YMCA

Membership Payment Information
Bank Draft Membership. Upon joining, payment of the joining fee plus the pro-rated first month's dues is required. With your authorization, an automatic monthly withdrawal will begin the following month of membership from either your checking, saving, Visa, Mastercard or Discover account. This is an ongoing deduction that remains in effect until canceled in writing at least 5 days prior to your draft date. Payment of fees must be kept current, or membership will be subject to cancellation.
Closing your bank account or canceling your credit card will result in additional fees in order to reactivate your membership. Membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Annual payments are available for all memberships if you are unable to join on the Bank Draft plan. Fees are equivalent to 12 monthly payments on the Bank Draft system. Annual Memberships are non-refundable. Renewal of annual membership must be completed within 45 days of the expiration date or will be subject to repayment of the joining Fee. Membership fees are non-transferable.

What is the Member Referral Program?
When you join the YMCA, you join a movement - a movement focused on improving the community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. As a member, when you refer someone to join the YMCA, we all get stronger. If you are a current YMCA member, you can receive one month of your YMCA membership free! For every new member referral you get to join, we'll give you one month off!
Can I refer more than one friend or family member?
Yes. There is no limit on the number of friends or family members you can refer to the Y.
Does my friend or family member have to join the same Y?
They have to join either the Easley, Pickens or Powdersville YMCA in order for you to qualify.
I have referred friends and family in the past, can I get credit for them?
No. The referral program began in November 2014 thus any request before then will not be a part of the referral program.
Who is eligible?
All membership types are eligible with the exception of the Upstate Memberships. There are a couple limitations:
1) Members must submit the referral within 45 days of the new member joining.
2) The new members must not have been YMCA members for the past 6 months.
I referred my friend and my friend joined. When do I get my free month?
Once you submit the form to us and the new member has joined, we will credit the upcoming month. It ultimately depends on the day your membership is paid and when the request is made. At most, it will take up to 30 days but most likely sooner.
I am currently receiving financial assistance or have an income based rate. Can I refer a friend for this program?
Yes. We encourage all of our members to take this opportunity and help us to make our community a healthier place to live.
