As you are well aware, these are unprecedented times for our community and our country. Here at the YMCA, we are committed to doing our part to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. For the health and safety of our community and our team, this has required us to close our branches to our members.
Even though we are closed to members, we are committed to providing childcare to those working in the healthcare fields and other essential service industries in our community. We are also coordinating with other agencies to provide assistance to those who are going to need our help in the coming days. For 176 years, the YMCA movement has been able to meet the most pressing community needs. Just as David fled to the battle in the Book of Samuel, we too are running towards the needs in our community.
But, we need your help.
I’m asking you to Stay With Us and keep your membership active. As a member of the YMCA, you are a part of a cause-driven organization that is shaping the foundation of our community in significant ways. Your YMCA membership has always been about more than access to a building. Your Y membership is about making connections and building relationships. It’s about making your contribution to a stronger community. We are committed to being here for you and our community when the tough work of recovery begins. In the meantime, we need you to be here with us—to help us deliver critical childcare services, sustain our organization and support our amazing staff so that we’re able to jump back into action when the time comes to reopen the Y!
For some, you may be in a position to help even more. Consider sponsoring another member or donating to our YMCA. These funds will help others stay connected to the YMCA and will help ensure the YMCA continues meeting needs in our communities.
Our original plan was to reopen April 1st. But the reality is that we will most likely reopen towards the middle of April. We will announce any plans or openings via email, social media and on our website. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your membership, please call us at 864-306-4699 or complete this form.
As we continue to navigate through this rapidly evolving situation for everyone, we will make decisions in wisdom, prayer, counsel from other leaders, and a strong determination to serve you and our community. Above all, I urge you to Stay With Us and allow this moment to move your hearts to what is most important in life. I continue to pray that this moment will remind us of the sovereignty of God and the truth of the Gospel.
