Literacy Mentor Program
Help a Child Read to Achieve
We are excited to have implemented a new Literacy Mentor program that has now launched in Pickens County. Serving students in grades 1-4, Literacy Mentors will serve much like traditional mentors but with an additional focus on providing students with reading support.
Apply to be a Mentor and sign up for a training using the calendar to the right. Literacy Mentors must complete both SDPC Mentoring 101 Training and Literacy Mentor Training.
For additional information and questions, please contact:
Katherine Mayo, Achievement Gap Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 309-0314.
Purpose: to supply struggling young readers with a literacy mentor, who gives academic support through interactive reading and writing activities while also providing encouragement and guidance in life.
