Cheryl Banks is the Child Development Center Director at the Brotherton CDC, part of the YMCA of Easley, Pickens & Powdersville. She joined our team in 2025, bringing with her 30 years of experience in early childhood education—both in Germany and the United States. Since 2007, Cheryl has served in childcare administration, most recently as the Director of Geer Memorial Child Development Center.

In her role, Cheryl oversees all aspects of the Brotherton CDC, leading a team dedicated to providing safe, nurturing, and high-quality care for children in our community. Her passion for early childhood development and strong leadership will play a vital role in the launch and growth of our newest center.

Cheryl is a strong advocate for investing in early childhood educators and believes they deserve recognition, respect, and support—not just as caregivers, but as professionals who help shape the future. She is excited to help our YMCA provide outstanding care to families in need and expand our mission through early education.

Cheryl lives in the Upstate and is a proud mom to her 19-year-old son, who works at Toyota of Greenville. Outside of work, she is passionate about supporting her team and championing the importance of early childhood care in our community.
