Y HIKING CLUB – All Members Welcome!

Celebrate time outdoors on the many spectacular trails and state parks in our area with family, friends and other Y members. The Y Hiking Club is a great way to stay active, connect with others in the great outdoors and enjoy the wonderful beauty of nature.

Anyone is welcome to join any of our hikes, however, each hike involves a varied level of difficulty. Please take into consideration the length and elevation gain of the hike that you plan to attend and consider your current fitness level.

While registration is not required, we encourage you to register for individual hikes below. By registering, you will help us know who’s coming and have your contact information as well as any emergency contact information.

04/13 - Table Rock State Park: Option A: Carrick Creek Loop

Join us for the Table Rock: Carrick Creek Loop hike.

There will be two trail options with two different intensity levels offered: 
Option A: Carrick Creek Loop. This hike will be 1.9 miles, is rated moderate, and has an elevation gain of 396 ft.

This trail is primarily used for hiking and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on a leash.

We will meet at the trailhead at 8:45 a.m. and the hike will begin at 9:00 a.m.

04/13 - Table Rock State Park: Option B: Table Rock Trail

Join us for the Table Rock: Table Rock Trail hike.

There will be two trail options with two different intensity levels offered: 
Option B: Table Rock Trail. This hike will be 6.9 miles, is rated hard, and has an elevation gain of 2,316 ft.

This trail is primarily used for hiking and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on a leash.

We will meet at the trailhead at 8:45 a.m. and the hike will begin at 9:00 a.m.

05/11 - Clemson Experimental Forest - Dam Road, Issaqueena, Rocky and Collarbone Trail

Join us for the Clemson Experimental Forest – Dam Road, Issaqueena, Rocky and Collarbone Trail Hike.

This hike is located near Central, South Carolina.

Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 4 hours to complete. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed.

All hikers will meet at the trailhead at 8:45am and the hike will begin at 9:00am.

06/08 - Kings Creek & Spoonauger Falls

Join us for the Kings Creek Falls and Spoonauger Falls Trail hike.

Kings Creek Falls Trail is a 1.2-mile moderately trafficked out-and-back trail with a 216 ft. elevation gain. Spoonauger Falls via Chattooga River Trail is a 0.6-mile heavily trafficked out-and-back trail with a 111 ft. elevation gain.

We will meet at the trailhead at 8:45am and the hike will begin at 9:00am. 

Directions: HWY 107 in Sumter National Forest near Mountain Rest, SC ➡️ Burrells Ford Rd. ➡️ Travel on Burrells Ford Rd. for roughly 1.6 miles and the parking lot will be located on the left.

07/13 - High Falls and Triple Falls Tour & Hooker Falls

Join us for the High Falls and Triple Falls Tour & Hooker Falls.

The High Falls and Triple Falls Tour & Hooker Falls are located in Dupont State Forest. This trail is a 3.3-mile loop that is rated as moderate with a 511 ft. elevation gain. Hooker Falls is a 0.8-mile trail that is rated as easy with a 137 ft. elevation gain. 

This hike will be roughly 4 miles total in length and should take about 4 hours to complete.

These trails are primarily used for hiking and nature trips and are accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use these trails but must be kept on a leash.

All hikers will meet at the visitor’s center at 8:45am and the hike will begin at 9:00am.

08/10 - Rainbow Falls and Turtleback Falls Trail

Join us for the Rainbow Falls and Turtleback Falls Trail hike.

Rainbow Falls and Turtleback Falls Trail is a 3.9-mile moderately trafficked out-and-back trail near Sapphire, NC with a 770 ft. elevation gain. 

We will meet at the trailhead at 8:45am and the hike will begin at 9:00am.

10/12 - Bridal Veil Falls via Mine Mountain and Cart Trails Hike

This hike is located in DuPont State Park.  This is a 6.4 mile out and back hike that is rated Moderate. Most climbing occurs in short sections of 8-16% grade changes that will be challenging if you are not in good physical condition. The majority of the hike is slightly sloped grades. Total elevation gain is 978 ft, equal to approximately 90 flights of stairs.  Hiking time will be about 4 hours to complete depending on speed and breaks.
Please bring plenty of water, and energy snacks and wear hiking boots or rigid-sole comfortable sneakers. This hike is not a leisurely stroll but will require reasonably good conditioning & a moderate walking pace.
Arrive by 8:45 am so the group can review good hiking practices, safety protocol, and the day’s hiking highlights. The group will depart promptly at 9:00 a.m.

We will meet at the Fawn Lake Parking area off Reasonover Rd. .
