Lee Wright is the Aquatics Director at the Powdersville YMCA, part of the YMCA of Easley, Pickens & Powdersville. He joined our team in April 2025, bringing with him a wealth of experience in aquatics, coaching, and operations management.
Lee has been a competitive swimmer since the age of four and was an All-American swimmer in both high school and college, swimming at the University of Tennessee. His professional background includes serving as Head Aquatics Coach for Apex Aquatics Club, Director of Operations for FedEx, and other leadership roles in office management. He has been a lifeguard, swim instructor, and coach for many years and is passionate about creating strong, safe, and successful aquatics programs.
In his role, Lee oversees all aspects of the Aquatics Department at the Powdersville Y—from staffing and swim lessons to swim team development and pool programming. He is deeply committed to the Y’s mission and looks forward to making a lasting impact on the community.
Lee lives in Piedmont with his wife and three children, and their family are active members of the Y. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, running, swimming, and staying active.
