Shannon Leatherwood is a Mentor Coordinator for the Y Mentor program, serving the Easley and Daniel schools with the School District of Pickens County.
In her role as Mentor Coordinator, Shannon is responsible for matching mentors to students who have been identified by school counselors as someone who could benefit from having a mentor. Throughout the school year, she lends support to the mentors and schools to ensure the mentees are benefitting from the program.
Shannon has many years of experience in education and non-profit leadership. Shannon utilizers her previous experiences to build relationships with our school partners, mentors and community leaders to strengthen the impact of Y Mentor in our schools.
When not at the Y, Shannon enjoys drinking coffee and playing pickleball with her friends. She has two grown daughters and one high school son that keeps her in close contact with the grocery store. She and her husband both run and bike for health. They attend Grace Church in Powdersville where she teaches 1st & 2nd grade girls and enjoys mentoring at Easley High.
