Youth Basketball

Youth Basketball

Play where it all began!

In 1891, the game of Basketball was invented at the YMCA in Springfield, Massachusetts in an effort to expand kid’s ability to have physical activity and team comradery during the colder months. Due to this expansion we saw children learning how to build and lift one another up by applying Christian principles to a healthy spirit, mind and body.

In our basketball program, we believe children need to be part of something bigger than themselves to help strengthen values, sportsmanship, leadership skills, and the importance of relationship building and diversity.  Our basketball program strives to foster the love of the game while learning more about basketball in a healthy competitive environment.
