Serving Our Youth

Serving Our Youth

The Y continues its legacy of providing charitable youth programs and services, developing our youth and ensuring all children have the needed resources to thrive.

EMERGENCY CHILDCARE
Since school closures, the Y has provided childcare to essential workers. Y staff has worked with community partners to plan for the summer and currently has children on the waiting list for 2020 summer programs.

BACKPACK FOOD DELIVERY
The Y has partnered with Concrete Primary, delivering weekend food packages to more than 30 students, and their families, each week.

Y MENTOR PROGRAM
The Y Mentor program has been hard at work to continue encouraging and facilitating interaction between mentees and their mentors. Additionally, the Y Mentor staff has delivered groceries and donated books to families within the program.

SUMMER IS NOT CANCELED
Moving forward, the Y is working closely with our local school districts and agencies in planning for future childcare needs. New operational policies are ensuring the safety of our children, their families and our staff. There are many unknowns. However, community support is critical. Read our Community Case for Support to ensure Summer 2020 will be bright for all children.

LEADING IN YOUTH PROGRAMMING
Community indicators and statistics have driven Y staff and board members to work with local school districts and community agencies to develop award-winning programmatic solutions to ensure all children have needed resources to thrive. Learn more about the positive program outcomes from the Y’s signature Youth Development programs: Y Mentor, Free 2nd Grade Swim Lessons and Camp iRock.

The community need for childcare and food security is great. Please help us continue to provide essential services by providing a gift to the YMCA.
