Meet Becca, Gina & Tyra

At the YMCA of Easley, Pickens & Powdersville, we are always striving to put into place the best programs to build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all in the communities we serve. And a large part of implementing great programs means hiring powerful staff who believe in the mission of the Y and changing lives.

With the start of a new year, we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to three new members of our association-wide leadership team that will lead many programs and initiatives throughout the year.

Becca Wilkinson, who has been a Wellness Coach and Personal Trainer at the Powdersville YMCA, has transitioned into the role of Wellness Supervisor for the branch.

In her new role as Wellness Supervisor, Becca oversees the scheduling and training of staff and supervises the wellness floor staff. As a Wellness Coach, she trains members, leads members through The Journey program, teaches Homeschool PE, KidFit, BeastMode and more! She is a Certified Personal Trainer, a Crossfit Level 1 Instructor and a Youth Fitness Specialist.

“Becca is driven and devoted to her role in helping others change their lives through wellness,” said Paulo Passini, Powdersville YMCA Wellness Director. “She has a passion for seeing people become the best version of themselves and finding strength they didn’t know they had.”

Gina Harn has recently joined our association as a Mentor Coordinator for the Y Mentor program for the schools in Easley and Pickens.

“Gina brings passion to our team and has many strong connections in our communities,” said Kari Jennings, Y Mentor Director. “We are excited about the ideas and leadership she brings to our program and the schools in Easley and Pickens.”

As a Mentor Coordinator, Gina matches mentors to students who have been identified by school counselors as someone who could benefit from having a mentor. She also lends support to the mentors and schools to ensure the mentees are benefitting from the program. Gina can relate to people in many different situations, which is an asset that allows her to understand the unique needs of both mentors and mentees.

Tyra Balcombe is moving into the role of Wellness Director at the Pickens YMCA after serving for several years as a Wellness Coach and Personal Trainer at the Powdersville YMCA.

In her new role as Wellness Director, Tyra will oversee all aspects of the Wellness department, including Group Wellness programs, The Journey and ActivTrax, Fit 4 Life, Personal Training, Pedaling 4 Parkinson’s, LiveStrong at the YMCA and so much more! During her time as a Wellness Coach at the Powdersville YMCA, Tyra excelled as a personal trainer, helped lead the first class of LiveStrong at the YMCA and taught Fit 4 Life classes at the Pickens YMCA.

“We are thrilled to have Tyra joining our Pickens YMCA family as Wellness Director,” said Tiffany Mullinax, Pickens YMCA Branch Executive. “Tyra brings fresh ideas, experience, and energy and passion. Our members will love getting to know her, and she is excited to hit the ground running.”
